Online Stopwatch — Free Browser Stopwatch with Lap Times

A Stopwatch With Lap Times, No Download

Start counting up immediately, record a lap whenever you need a split, and reset when you're done — all in a browser tab, with no account and nothing to install.

Where People Use It

Timing a workout or a run

Start it before a set or a lap, and tap Lap at each interval to keep every split without losing the running total.

Cooking, brewing, or any hands-on task

No duration to set up front — just start it the moment you begin and check elapsed time whenever you need to.

Timing a call, a talk, or a task

Useful anywhere you want to know how long something actually took after the fact, not before it starts.

Classroom or competition timing

Big, readable digits and a lap list make it usable as a shared on-screen stopwatch, projected or on a shared screen.

How to Use

Four steps, no setup required first.

Hit start

The stopwatch counts up immediately — no duration or settings to configure first.

Tap the flag for a lap

Each lap records its split (time since the last lap) and its total elapsed time, newest at the top.

Pause or reset anytime

Pause holds the current time in place; Reset clears both the clock and the lap list back to zero.

Go fullscreen for visibility

Fullscreen clears the browser chrome for a shared screen or projector; Keep Screen On stops it from dimming mid-session.

Features

What you're actually getting, feature by feature.

Counts up from zero

No duration to enter — press start and it's already timing.

Lap times

Record as many splits as you need; each shows both the split and the running total.

One-tap reset

Clears the elapsed time and every recorded lap in one press.

Fullscreen mode

Clear the browser chrome away for a clean, distraction-free display.

Keep screen on

The Wake Lock API stops the screen from dimming or sleeping during a long timed session.

Color themes

Pick from the same LED color set as the rest of the site's clocks, saved locally for next time.

FAQ

The questions that come up most about this tool.

Does this stopwatch track lap times?

Yes — tap the flag icon while it's running to record a lap. Each entry shows the split (time since the previous lap) and the total elapsed time, with the most recent lap at the top.

Will it keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes, it keeps counting in a background tab. Turn on Keep Screen On if you also need the display to stay lit and visible the whole time.

Does pressing Reset clear my lap times too?

Yes — Reset clears the elapsed time and every recorded lap back to zero. If you just want to pause without losing laps, use the pause button instead.

What's the difference between this and the Timer page?

This page is stopwatch-only, with lap times. The Timer page also has a stopwatch mode, but it's built around counting down to an alarm and doesn't track laps.
